IDS 2023: Celebrating 100 Years of Innovation in the Dental Industry

 

The International Dental Show (IDS) is the world's leading trade fair for the dental industry. Held every two years in Cologne, Germany, IDS brings together thousands of professionals from around the world to showcase the latest innovations in dental technology and equipment. More than 850 companies from over 50 countries have already confirmed their participation in IDS 2023. According to a preliminary list of exhibitors, the highest level of participation will come from companies based in Germany, Italy, South Korea, France, Switzerland, and the United States. One of the key focus areas of IDS 2023 will be periodontics. The European Federation of Periodontology has developed a treatment guideline for this area, which will be showcased at the event. Attendees will learn about the latest techniques and technologies in periodontal treatment, as well as the connection between oral health and general health. With periodontal disease being linked to several systemic diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease, this topic is particularly relevant to the wider healthcare industry.

In addition to periodontics, IDS 2023 will cover other important areas of dentistry, such as implantology, endodontics, and orthodontics. The gross exhibition space for IDS 2023 has increased from 115,000 m² in 2021 to a planned 180,000 m² across seven halls for 2023. This means more space for exhibitors to showcase their products and services, and more room for attendees to explore and learn.
